Speaking and Workshops

Hire Jim to speak at your next meeting.

As both a keynote speaker and seminar facilitator, I provide opportunities for groups and individuals to experience first-hand the life-changing power of simply asking for what they want. By providing the incentive needed to break old habits and introducing proven practices for developing more effective communication skills, my presentations are ideal for anyone who wants more our of life – but has been reluctant to go after it.

My keynotes, presentations and interactive workshops are designed to produce immediate change and quick results in both personal and professional relationships. They can be tailored to the specific needs of organizations, businesses and private group. Some of my most popular topics include:

      • I Can Hear You Now. Listening is the most undervalued and underutilized communication tool. Learn the art of unbiased listening to increase opportunities, how to unlock the power of the 80/20 rule, and discover why improving your listening skills promotes better asking skills.
      • How to Handle Rejection. Instead of seeing the word “no” as the end of a discussion, you will learn to use it as the start of a negotiation. Uncover techniques for turning rejection into opportunity in order to overcome your fear of going after what you truly want.
      • What Does “No” Really Mean? Hearing “No” in response to our requests is the single biggest barrier to asking. But “No” doesn’t always mean “No” at all. Understanding the hidden meanings behind a negative response will empower you to turn them into “Yes’s.”
      • Asking and Listening Skills are the High Octane Fuel of Communications. Discover the ways in which asking and listening create effective communication. Why communication is the key to developing relationships. And how relationships drive success in our personal and professional lives.

I have shared my passion and experience in the art of asking with audiences at Merrill Lynch, Pfizer, ReMax, and Tetra Pak, as well as professional associations and chambers of commerce. I have also spoken at the New School in New York, and Fairleigh Dickinson University and Montclair State University in New Jersey.

Here is what some of my clients have to say:

Jim was informative, humorous, encouraging, and gracious in addressing attendees’ questions and concerns. His anecdotes and audience interaction put everyone at ease, creating a friendly and non-threatening interchange of ideas between him and audience members. Many came up to me afterwards to give Jim the “thumbs up” for his motivational message and methods. Jim’s knowledge and enthusiasm about the topic thoroughly engaged and informed.

Thank you so much for your wonderful, interactive presentation. You are certainly a great motivator and an easy speaker to listen to. You had everyone’s attention for the entire time.
    Joan Neumann, Vice President Administration
    Rockland Business Association, Inc.
I want to thank you, Jim, for being the guest speaker at the Northern New Jersey Senior Care Seminar. Your information was not only informative, but also was exciting to listen to. You brought the information to LIFE. In this day and age with so many self help gurus out there, it is hard to distinguish the ones that just do a lot of talking without substance. You had substance and thought provoking information. Everyone walked away with something.
    Shelley Edelson, President
    Northern New Jersey Senior Care

I invited Jim to come and speak at a business council event and I am very glad I did. Not only was his presentation excellent, he captivated the audience with his energy and stories. The feedback I received from the audience was that he was one of the best presenters they had the opportunity to hear. I would recommend Jim for any audience, from business to students.
